New Zealand has become the number one team for the first time by defeating Pakistan in the Christchurch Test.

According to the latest team rankings released by the ICC, the New Zealand team has advanced to first place by defeating Pakistan. New Zealand has 118 points while Australia has 116 points.

Pakistan is ranked ninth in the Test rankings, Afghanistan ninth, and Bangladesh tenth.

In the Christchurch Test, the Pakistani batting line once again failed miserably. In the first innings, the entire team was bowled out for 297 runs in which Azhar Ali scored 93, captain Mohammad Rizwan 61 and Faheem Ashraf 48 while the other batsmen were successful. Shaun Masood 0, Abid Ali 25, Haris Sohail 1, Fawad Alam 2 were the guests in the arms. For New Zealand, Kyle Jameson took 5 wickets, Tim Southee and Trent Bolt took 2 wickets each.
