According to the spokesperson of the British Prime Minister's House, Boris Johnson called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and apologized for attending the Republic Day celebrations.

According to the spokesperson, in view of the intensification of the new Coronavirus wave in the UK and the lockdown in the country which started yesterday, the Prime Minister has decided to remain in the UK so that he can keep an eye on the issues related to Corona.

According to the British government, Boris Johnson will visit India in the first half of this year before the G-7 summit in the UK, with the Indian Prime Minister attending the conference as a guest.

It may be recalled that India had ratified its constitution on January 26, 1950, and since then this day has been celebrated as Republic Day.
