ISLAMABAD: Afghanistan has requested Pakistan to send the bodies of three of the seven Afghan nationals killed in the Machh tragedy to Afghanistan.

The Consul General of Afghanistan has requested the Government of Pakistan to hand over the bodies. According to the consul, seven of the 11 people killed in the Machh tragedy are from Afghanistan. The families of the three dead Afghans have requested the return of the bodies.

Afghan authorities have requested that the bodies of Chaman Ali son of Nazir Bek, Aziz son of Raza Qali, and Naseem son of Abdul Rahim be sent to Afghanistan from the Chaman border.

QUETTA: The sit-in of the victims of the Machh tragedy on Quetta Highway has entered its fourth day. Despite several efforts of the federal ministers and the provincial government, the protesters refused to hold talks and made all talks conditional on the arrival of the Prime Minister.

According to the NFOR  News update, the sit-in of the heirs of the 11 victims of the Machh tragedy continues with the dead under the open sky despite the severe cold. Protesters include women, children, and the elderly. Protesters have blocked the western bypass by burning tires on both sides, and all traffic has been suspended.

When Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid and Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri arrived for talks with the sit-in participants between Monday and Tuesday night, the family demanded the arrival of the Prime Minister and the resignation of the provincial government.

The protesters also demanded the formation of a judicial commission on the issue of arrest of the accused, which was approved by Sheikh Rashid, who assured the establishment of a judicial commission. However, the protesters refused to bury the bodies until other demands were approved.

Federal Minister Ali Zaidi and Zulfi Bukhari also arrived for talks with the protesters between Tuesday and Wednesday night, but the participants refused to end the sit-in and bury the bodies until the arrival of the Prime Minister.

Protesters are requested to bury the dead, Ali Zaidi, Zulfi Bukhari

Ali Zaidi while condemning the incident said that the protesters are requested to bury the martyrs. I assure you that Prime Minister Imran Khan will definitely come to meet the family. Such incidents have been happening in Pakistan in the past as well. We were not in government then. Such incidents have taken place, our own people are unknowingly playing into the hands of outsiders, a conspiracy is being hatched against Pakistan, the outside hand is involved in harming Pakistan.
