Balochistan Home Secretary Hafiz Abdul Basit said the nine dead had been identified. He said the people identified were from Afghanistan. Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has strongly condemned the firing incident in the Geshri area of ​​Machh.

He expressed sorrow over the loss of precious human lives as a result of the firing and demanded an immediate report of the incident from the concerned authorities. The Chief Minister directed to use all available resources for the immediate arrest of the elements involved in the incident and to provide the best medical facilities to the injured miners. He said that those who targeted innocent miners did not deserve any concession and those involved in terrorist activities would be brought to justice. Baluchistan Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Lango condemned the incident, saying no form of terrorism was acceptable in the province and all resources would be used to bring the accused to justice.
