Karak: Notice of attack on temple in Supreme Court, 28 arrested after FIR

 Pakistan's Supreme Court has taken notice of an attack on a temple in Karak by an angry mob, while an FIR has been registered and police have arrested 28 people.


It may be recalled that the angry protesters in the Terry area of ​​Banda Daud Shah Tehsil of Karak District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan had blocked the expansion of the temple by protesting against the expansion of a Samadhi in a Hindu holy place. Protesters also vandalized the temple on the occasion. A written press release issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday said that the Supreme Court would hear the notice on January 5.

This was stated by the Pakistan Hindu Council in a meeting with the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Chairman of the Pakistan Hindu Council and Member National Assembly. The Chief Justice expressed grave concern over the incident and told him that he had already taken notice of the incident and the court would hear it next Tuesday.

He said that under the direction of a one-member commission for the rights of minorities, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would visit the spot and submit a report by Monday.

FIR registered under terrorism provisions

In Karak district, police have registered an FIR against an attack on a Hindu temple, which also includes terrorism provisions. Police have arrested 28 people involved in the incident while a heavy contingent of police has been deployed near the temple.


According to details, Maulana Muhammad Sharif, a resident of Armor area of ​​Karak and Maulana Hafiz Faizullah of Terry area near Karak have been named in the FIR while 300 to 400 unidentified persons have been named.
